Roseanne Rose

ROSEANNE ROSE, age 97 of Waseca died on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born on May 20, 1918 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Joseph and Magdaline (Schaeffer) Schoenhoff.  She attended St. Paul’s Catholic School before graduating from Sauk Centre High School in 1936.   She married Warren “Bud” Rose on February 2, 1938 in Sauk Centre.   Roseanne operated the Schoenhoff Insurance Agency in Sauk Centre for several years.  They moved to Waseca in 1965 where they bought a local bar and renamed it Rose’s Bar.   Roseanne was musically gifted, playing the piano in the bar by ear to entertain patrons and singing in the church choir in Sauk Centre.   She enjoyed playing cards.   She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca and was a lifetime member of the Waseca VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by three children, Sharon Anderson of Vadnais Heights, Allan (Val) Rose of Waseca, and Joel (Julie) Rose of Waseca; 12 grandchildren, Kraig Anderson, Karen McCarty, Jessica (Al) Mendoza, Jamie (Tim),  Kimberly Ann (Alan) Kabel, Pamela Jean Rose, Aunde Marie Rose, Susie (Scott) Armusewicz, Amy (Josh) Miller, Kelly (Aaron) Blaney, Jennifer (Brandon) Mulcahy, and Molly (Daniel) Kopischke; and 19 great grandchildren, Tor Anderson, Aveline Anderson, Elena Mendoza, Cecelia Mendoza, Dylan Grinde,  Samantha Kieles, Charlee Kabel, Danee Kabel, Nolan Kabel, Scott “Tre” Armusewicz III, Shealynn Armusewicz, Jaxon Miller, Hudson Miller, Autumn Miller, Hayden Blaney, Quinn Blaney, Logan Blaney, Roselyn Mulcahy, and Ellie Kopischke.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Jeremy Rose; two sisters, Julia Brown and Mary Schlief; and one brother, Valerian Schoenhoff.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.   Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
