EARL ZIMPRICH, age 92 of Elysian, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.
Born on November 22, 1916 in Janesville Township, Waseca County, Minnesota he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Ressler) Zimprich. He attended Hoffman School District #28 in rural Waseca County. Following his schooling, Earl worked on the family farm before serving in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was stationed in the Philippines and New Guinea. Earl married Cora Langston on October 7, 1948 in Northome, Minnesota. He worked as a butcher at the grocery store in Elysian for over 40 years and also farmed for many years. Following Cora’s death, Earl married Marlene “Marti” Rezac in 1981. He enjoyed children, dogs, camping, spear fishing, and deer hunting. Earl was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian and the Elysian American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Marti of Elysian; six children, Paul (Sue Wilker) Zimprich of Elysian, Frank (Rhonda) Zimprich of Janesville, Susan (Peter) Meisch of Lakeville, Robert (Sara) Zimprich of Austin, Rita Bryan of Burnsville, and Leo (Roxann) Zimprich of Janesville; six step-children, Anita (Jerry) Frank of West Chester, Ohio, Patrick (Sherry) Landrum of North Mankato, Michael (Kay) Landrum of Rockford, IL, George (Deborah) Rezac of Hastings, Jerome (Carolina) Rezac of Mesa, AZ, and Evonne (Brian) Traxler of Henderson; and many beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Shirley Zimprich of Elysian and Janice Zimprich of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife-Cora, five brothers-Julius, Bernard, Gordon, Leo, and Joseph, and one sister-Verna.
Visitation will be held at Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 4-8 PM. There will be no reviewal before services on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elysian. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian. |
