Marguerite Marsh

 

MARGUERITE M. MARSH, age 91 formerly of Elysian, died on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Auburn Manor in Chaska.

Born on March 6, 1918 in Utica, Wisconsin she was the daughter of Roy and Helena (Clarke) Brockway.  Marguerite attended school in Elysian before graduating from Waterville High School.  She married Malcolm Marsh on December 22, 1939 in Estherville Iowa.  Marguerite owned and operated Root Variety Store in Elysian and later worked as a bookkeeper for an implement dealership in Waseca.  She enjoyed bird watching and reading.  Marguerite was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elysian and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two children, Bonnie (Duane) Saunders of Eden Prairie and Michael (Janet) Marsh of Leawood, KS; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Betty Williams of Elysian and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her mother-Helena and step-father-Oscar Williams, her husband-Malcolm, and one brother-Willard Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Elysian with Rev. Peter Milloy officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at church.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.  Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville is handling arrangements.
