ELMER L. KRAUSE, age 96 of Waseca died Friday, July 24, 2009 at his son’s residence in Waseca County.

Elmer was born on February 20, 1913 in Waseca County, Minnesota.  He was the son of Paul H. and Augusta (Bathke) Krause and the youngest of nine children.  He attended District #91 school when the farm work didn't keep him home.  On April 20, 1937 he married Myrl V. Taft at the Rice Lake Evangelical parsonage.  His uncle, Rev Albert Schendel, performed the ceremony.  Elmer and Myrl lived and farmed in Wilton Township until the time of his death.   He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca where he served on several church boards.  He was previously a member of the Waseca County District #91 School Board, Wilton Cemetery Board, and Creamery Board.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Lyle Kuhns and son and daughter-in-law, John and Doris Krause all of Waseca; six grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister, Lydia Owens of New Richland.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrl in 2004, and several brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 3:30 PM at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Elden Eklund  officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the time of services.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.   Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca is handling arrangements.
