Waverly Jean Jerrow

WAVERLY JEAN (FETTE) JERROW, age 75 of Northfield, died on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Reflections assisted living in Northfield, MN.

Born in Waseca on December 3, 1933, W. Jean was the daughter of Ernest & Evelyn (Seavey) Fette.  She attended school in Owatonna, and graduated in 1953.  In 1952 she married Emil Frank Simacek in Waseca.  As they shared their life together, they had six children.  They later divorced, and Emil passed away in 2001.  W. Jean was then married to Cecil Jerrow in 1978 in LeCenter.  Over the years, she drove bus for Korteum Bus Company in Waseca and was also employed at Brown Printing and Birds Eye Foods.  In 1977 she went back to school to earn her Accounting degree in Mankato, where she earned a straight “A” average.  She then held a position at Traxlers in LeCenter.  In 1998, she retired and moved to the Alexandria area where her youngest daughter lived.  W. Jean loved to work with her hands: crocheting, needlework and sewing.  She was always in the kitchen.  She wanted to help others whenever she could, no matter what the circumstance.  She was always involved with her church; being a Sunday school teacher in LeCenter.  She also joined the Rebeccahs and held a president position for a term.  Later in life, W. Jean’s health led her to an assisted living facility, Reflections, in Northfield, where she continued to live life to the fullest.  Her family will always treasure the time they were able to spend with her and she will be missed greatly!

W. Jean is survived by one son, Alan (Missy) Simacek of Laurens, SC; and three daughters, Linda (Donovan) Sargent of Minneapolis, Barb (Wayne) Acheson of Waterloo, SC, and Debra (Rick) Colden of Alexandria, MN; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael and Robin Simacek; one brother, Arnie Fette; Emil Simacek, father of the children.
