JAMES L. HUTCHINS, age 76 of Kilkenny passed away at District One Hospital in Faribault on Saturday, January 30, 2010.

Born May 1, 1934, James was the son of Louie L. and Mabel A. (Henriksen) Hutchins.  Growing up, he attended school in Central City, Iowa, and later graduated in Marion, Iowa.  He was married to Neomia Triplett in Galena, Illinois on June 6, 1966.  As an avid outdoorsman, James was a member of Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and the North American Fishing Club.  He enjoyed fishing and traveling on fishing trips, hunting, and also mushroom hunting.  Above all these things, however, he cherished his grandchildren.  He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

James is survived by his wife, Neomia of Kilkenny; seven children, Jean (Robert) Sculley of Crescent City, FL, Virginia (Jim) Hardin of Lawton, OK, Harry (Vicki) Clark of Mustang Island, TX, Randy Lee Hutchins of Raleigh, NC, Randy Kaye (Tamra) Southard of Nicollet, MN, John (Kristyn) Ryan of Springville, IA, and David (Michele) Ryan of Cedar Rapids, IA; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Leo (Twyla) Hutchins, and Harold (Joyce) Hutchins both of Marion, Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Londa; one son, Gary; one granddaughter, Amy; one grandson, Russell; and one son of Neomia’s, Johnny David.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville, with Rev. David Crow officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
