LUCILLE “LUCY” FRODEL, age 77 of Waterville died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.

Born on November 21, 1932 in Waterville, Minnesota she was the daughter of Francis and Grace (Seifert) Frodel.  Lucy attended school in Waterville graduating in 1952.  She lived on the family farm and was the primary caregiver for her parents until her father’s death in 1978.  She also worked as a cashier for many years at various places including King’s Red and White in Waseca, IGA in Waseca and Faribault, and Berg’s Drug Store in Waterville.  Lucy enjoyed cards, bingo, mystery tours, bus trips, cats, John Deere, and watching Lawrence Welk and Bandwagon.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville and the Catholic Daughters.  She was also a member of Coffee Partners in Waterville and volunteered at the Senior Center.

She is survived by one sister, Marguerite Salzle of Waseca; two nieces, JoAnn (Joe) Bluth of North Mankato and their children Peter, Tony, and Carrie; and Donna Salzle of Burnsville; and one nephew, Mike (Gloria) Salzle of Laguna Hills, CA and their children David, Marcie and Michael.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Clarence Salzle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville with Rev. Michael Ince officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before services at the church.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterville.  Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville is handling arrangements.
