ETHEL M. FERCH, age 91 of Waseca died on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca.

Born in Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County, Minnesota on August 19, 1918, she was the daughter of Arthur and Inez (Schwanke) Schlossin.  She attended rural school District #78 & #92 in Deerfield Township.  She married Gordon Ferch October 31, 1936 at the Methodist Episcopal Church parsonage in Waseca.  Ethel worked as a cleaning lady for both families and businesses for several years.  She had also been employed with the Waseca Greenhouse.  She enjoyed sewing, loved birds and had raised canaries.  Ethel also enjoyed plants and flowers and was happiest at family gatherings.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church Women.

She is survived by one son, Vernon (Karen) Ferch of Waseca; one daughter, Jane (Lester) Kroeger of Waseca; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

Visitation will be a Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 3-7 PM and continue 1 hr. prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with The Rev. Debra Collum officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
