James (Jim) Craig Eaton, age 49 of rural Waseca died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his farm in Waseca County.

Born August 31, 1960 in Waseca, Minnesota he was the son of Harold and Donna (Fowler) Eaton.  Jim attended Waseca High School and graduated in 1979.  He married Doreen Hintz on September 2, 1978 at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.  After getting married they lived and farmed in Otisco Township, Waseca County.

Jim’s main goal in life from the time his first son was born was to provide for his family.  He did so by building a farm.  In 1985 he started Eaton Farms Trucking, servicing his and local farmers grain hauling needs.  Along the way he was recognized as Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year in 1994.  He started the custom manure pumping business, Eaton Agri-Businesses in 1996.  He expanded into the grain bin building business when he added Eaton Industries to the group of business operations in 2001.  All along the way he taught his two oldest boys everything he knew.  Not knowing what the two youngest children would go on to do, he was making plans for them to come home and be a part of the family farm.  He had the opportunity to watch his ambition come out in his sons when they started their first business venture in the snow removal business.  His wife, children, and grandchildren were the number one things in his life.  His dream was the farm and his family will continue to develop his dreams.

He is survived by his wife Doreen, sons Isaac and his wife Missy, Zachary and his wife Lindsey, Quinton and his friend Alyssa Spies, and daughter ShaLee Eaton; and four grandchildren, Randi, Isabella, Seth, and Mack all of Waseca.  He is also survived by his father, Harold of Waseca and two sisters, Linda Eaton of Waseca and Susan Possehl of Hartland.  He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother Edgar.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca from 4-8 PM.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Roger Haug and Rev. Dan Doering officiating.  Burial will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca following the service.
