MYRA MAE BUKER, age 83 of Waseca died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at her home in Waseca County. Born on August 26, 1926 in Waseca, Minnesota she was the daughter of Alfred and Olga (Kujath) Prechel. Myra attended school in rural Waseca County and was confirmed on June 15, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton. She married Robert Buker on December 30, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wilton. After getting married, they lived in Iosco Township for 12 years before moving to her husband’s home farm in Woodville Township. In addition to raising her family, Myra had been employed with Birds Eye in Waseca. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing cards, bird watching, word puzzles, animals, baking and playing solitaire. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca and the Ladies Aid and quilters. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Waseca; two daughters, Rita (Norm) Volkmann of Janesville and Brenda (David) Lee of Waseca; three foster sons, Tim Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, Tom Anderson of Duluth, and Terry (Sally) Anderson of Waseca; five grandchildren, Tracy Roeker, Robyn Roeker, Grace Roeker, Adam Lee, and Cora Lee; four step grandchildren, Jacob Volkmann, Sarah Volkmann, James Volkmann, and Amber Volkmann; and one step-great grandchild, Baby Benson. She is also survived by one brother, Leo (Betty) Prechel of Waseca; and two sisters, Vera Swanson of Plymouth and Janyce Kormann of Michigan City, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 4-8 PM. A private family burial will take place at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca prior to the service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Vicki Hultine officiating. |
